Bathroom Decorating on a Budget
By: Melanie C.
Many renovations cost the earth and the upheaval they cause makes everyone grumpy for weeks. Save the hassle by trying out a few simpler bathroom-decorating tips. A new paint job is one of the easier options, but does require time and patience. If the preparation is not done properly, then peeling paint in no time will be the result. A light colour can change a dingy bathroom dramatically. If you also buy one with a mould-killer in it, you won't have to scrub that mould off walls ever again.
Sometimes furnishings can make a big difference. A new shower curtain, new knobs on the cupboards, and new tap fittings will rejuvenate your bathroom quickly. Add to that a whole matching set of towels, bath mat, toilet mat and lid cover and you won't know the place.
A new vitreous china toilet bowl and cistern won't take all that much upheaval to install either. If you still think that's too much, simply replace the lid and seat with something fancier. How about a ring of dolphins or a beach scene to sit on? Gold towel rails look fantastic, but the gold will wear off after a while; stainless steel will give a bright new look and last for ages.
